We’re looking for an Apprentice Brewer to join our highly skilled team

Our purpose-built brew house is less than 12 months old, expertly designed and situated at our new head office in the Ribble Valley. Our beer has always been at the heart of our business and we’re looking for someone at the start of their brewing career who wants to continue our long heritage.

We are offering study support to complete a Level 4 Brewer Apprenticeship with clear progression to a career. This is a full-time position.

 

Your day to day;

  • Supporting all of the day to day brewery operations
  • Moving raw ingredients along the brewing process
  • Ensuring good stock management for raw materials and finished product
  • Maintaining strict health and safety standards
  • Analysing samples to ensure levels of quality are met      

 

Who are we looking for?

You will enjoy being in a hands-on role with a passion for all thing’s food and drink development an interest in beer and brewing would be advantageous. We are on track to produce 9,000 barrels this year sold exclusively in our properties. Each shift is varied and you never know what the day can bring.

Being a team player will be vital; you will regularly work with the other brewers lifting and moving raw materials, managing the brewing process and packing and storing the finished product. You’ll have logical & pragmatic approach, good problem-solving ability and good housekeeping.

You will need a creative mind with a head for numbers as you will be checking and adjusting recipes as you go. You will work in a team that embodies the Daniel Thwaites’ principles of Innovation and Craftsmanship, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the industry.

It would be ideal if you have achieved A levels or equivalent preferably in Science with a good grasp of Maths.
